Tour begins on day one at the hotel in Florence. Taxi service is readily available upon your arrival at the Florence airport and train station and the cost is approximately Euros 27 to the Florence hotel located in the city center.
All land transportation is supplied as per tour specific itinerary including a complimentary transfer at tour end from Chianti residence to the Florence central train stations (SMN). Departure time at tour end (day 9) will be at 11.00 am, if you have a flight prior to 1:30 pm we will arrange a transfer via taxi, however not complimentary. NB: If you add on days at the completion of the scheduled tour, you will NOT be able to benefit from the the complimentary transfer to the train station. Naturally we will assist you in reserving a taxi or other service so that you can get to either the airport, train station or other destination in the area.
There are four private guided city tours - Florence, Monteriggioni & San Gimignano, Montepulciano in addition to the country tour of the Val d'Orcia to an amazing pecorino cheese farm as well the Santa Giulia winery to taste wonderful wines in the Montalcino region. Included are entrance tickets to the Accademia Gallery in Florence. Moderate walking is involved on this tour. Please bring comfortable shoes that are appropriate for walking the inclined hard stone city streets of our renaissance and medieval towns.
You will spend the afternoon in the kitchen of our 12th century abbey in the heart of Chianti for a wonderful hands-on cooking class. You will prepare a full-course meal with the guidance and supervision of your exuberant teacher, Patrizia and her team. Your menu will be comprised of dishes typical to the region and nearly all ingredients used are from the property of the abbey. During the lesson there will be a "break" where you will taste some of the abbey's white wines. Dinner will be family-style, naturally including wine from the abbey.
WINERY VISITS
There are 5 winery visits with premium tastings plus an additional introductory tasting in Florence on this tour. All wineries are located in Tuscany. You will be touring a variety of wineries from a larger commercial winery to small family owned ones. You will be visiting their cellars, their production facilities and tasting rooms. Our winery partners on this tour will be only in Tuscany that includes the Chianti, Montalcino & Montepulcio regions. During wine tours & tastings you will be presented either 3 or 4 different wines and in selected wineries you will also be tasting olive oils and vinegars. Two of the six wineries will be hosting a wine lesson (Chianti 101) giving you the essentials of how the particular wines are produced, aged and brought to market.

Dining tips are included in your tour. Should you desire to give a few euros to the hotel staff for the extra great service, that will be very much appreciated. Our licensed tour guides and coach drivers are selected because of their expertise and people skills. We feel it important to let them know if they are doing a great job and tips are always appreciated. We do suggest tips Euro 5-10 per day for guides and Euro 5 for our coach drivers.

Tour deposits of US$550.00 pp (non-refundable) must be paid from either the portal on this website for credit card payments or from the link on your invoice for ACH payments. Tour balances are due either December 1 (all spring tours) or April 1 (all fall tours). You will receive a payment reminder for final payments approximately 1 month prior to the due dates. You will receive e-welcome packets upon your deposit payment as well as hard copy versions sent to your home via USPS.

Seven nights in charming 4-star hotels & country resorts of which 2 nights in the historical center of Florence located just minutes from the Ponte Vecchio in a contemporary boutique hotel part of the Lungarno Collection of luxury hotels and five nights in a historic 14th century abbey, now a privately owned winery resort located near Gaiole-in-Chianti where you have at your disposition spa, pool & restaurant (from the fall of 2025). Room configurations are double standard occupancy (in Italian queen beds). During the course of the week in magical Chianti, you will experience FIVE hands-on cooking classes around the Chianti area. Your kitchens will be in charming farm houses and wineries. Your instructors will be local Tuscans from the area who love what they do.... cook for others !! Classes are 3 to 4 hour sessions and will generally include 4 courses in general (with the exception of the Pizza Making day) with local wines. Following each lesson we eat all that was prepared as one big happy Italian family! You don't need to have any experience in cooking, we'll show you the ropes!
Classes are designed to give a real hands-on approach showcasing the tradition of Tuscany cooking. While lessons are in different locations around Chianti the common thread is the same throughout.... a love of Italian food and culture!
You'll be in the hands of the chefs of wineries, local restaurants and professional culinary instructors around Chianti. Lessons will generally include: Antipasti, Primi (starter which often is pasta, soup, vegetable based dish), Secondo (entrees) which will include a protein or vegetable based and Dolci. Instructors will bring to the lessons their flair and unique specialties in their kitchens. Each participant will receive their own Tasting Tuscany Apron and Recipes following each lesson.
ALL breakfasts and either lunch or dinner daily are included during the 8 day period as indicated in the itinerary. Cooking classes will take the place of meals when scheduled during lunch or dinner, other meals are included as per itinerary.
There are 2 winery tours in the Chianti region with tastings that generally include 3-4 varieties of wines.

This magnificent four star 7 night, 8 day art, food and wine tour to two of the Europe's most richest cities in terms of art and culture takes you to experience places where time virtually has not moved in over 500 years. The tour begins in Renaissance Florence where you will spend 3 days with private guides visiting the iconic landmarks of the city including museum visits, wonderful meals and naturally shopping. The tour transfers to a spectacular winery/castle for 2 nights which will be the base camp where you will enjoy a delightful meal at the castle's restaurant in addition you will visit the hill-top town of San Gimignano followed by wine tasting at a near-by winery. Plan this trip so as to link it to the spring food & wine "The Best of Florence & Chianti" or the fall "Cooking in Chianti" tour! This four night, five-day tour begins at our hospitality partner hotel in Ravello, a charming sea-town village situated above the magnificent coast line of Amalfi. We will transport you with the group from the train station in Naples to Ravello. You will visit naturally bot Positano, in addition there is an amazing excursions to the Emerald Caves in Amalfi.
